The FGV Rio Law Master's degree course is the first in Brazil focused on Law and Regulation, with two lines of research: "Regulatory Governance, Institutions, and Justice" and "Economy, Intervention, and Regulatory Strategies."
The course topic is considered central in Brazil and the world, being raised in debates about recent transformations in the Government structure, such as the discussion about issues related to the idealization, implementation, and monitoring of public policies and the development of the infrastructure sectors.
With a duration of two years, the Master's degree course has 450 class hours, divided into disciplines (mandatory and common elective), supervised activities, research groups, guidance, qualification, and thesis related activities.
Classes are held in the morning and/or afternoon, from Monday to Friday, at FGV - Praia de Botafogo, 190, 13º andar - Botafogo, State of Rio de Janeiro.
Curriculum Structure and Disciplines
The curriculum structure of the Academic Master's degree course in Law and Regulation requires the completion of 30 credits – 6 for mandatory disciplines, 15 for elective disciplines, 4 for the thesis, and 5 credits for supervised activities –, according to the activities provided for in the Graduate Program Regulations.
Each credit is equivalent to 15 hours. All disciplines that comprise the PPGD are taught in person at FGV in Rio de Janeiro.
